Here I come!

Hello, everyone
Here comes my first post here, after, hmmm, one month and half of our arrival. I didn't mean to abandon my blog. And there was sooooo much going on here. I love Chicago so much! Anyway, the reason for my super late post is....guess what happened? I forgot my account name and password. (T.T) I know this is kinda silly. Well, long story short. I will post some pictures as well as a quick view of my first month here!

This was my group for scavenger hunt. Food hunting! Wooh-hoo! That was my favorite part of our orientation week. We were divided into several groups to hunt for food in different neighborhoods. Chicago is a city with rich history and culture, especially when it comes to various neighborhood. The one we went, called Andersonville, is a pretty and neat Polish neighborhood. We got coffee cake and cookies for our Potluck that night, and we finished our task as the first one! Oh yeah, I'm always a big fan of food. :P
Here's my second picture that I want to share. My favorite part of Chicago------FOOD! You can find all kinds of food here, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Jamaican, Puerto Rican, Mexican, etc. Whatever you can imagine, Chicago has them! This pic is a Vietnamese dish from the Vietnamese restaurant we went. My roomate is Vietnamese. lol. BTW, I'm Chinese. For everyone's interest and convenience, I'll try not to talk about Chinese food in this blog, despite the fact that I go to Chinatown at least once a week. (> <)
Ahh, also, please get used to my little icon like (> <),  T.T , = = or something like  < 3. Explainations are, along the order, happy/awkward/thrilled, crying face, speechless/bored/ignorant.
This was from St. Patrick's Parade!!! Everything was so green that Saturday. The real St. Patrick day was actually last Thursday, but Chicago has a werid/ cool tradition of dying the Chicago river into green! So my roomie and me went to watch the whole dying event and then standed on columbus street to watch the parade. It was super fun, however, I was freezing outside standing for more than an hour. T.T I will insert more photos here, just showing off what I got in my camera. hahah
I edited this one a little bit. The band they were wearing has a "Made in China" on top, if you can recognize it. I know I know I know that almost everything is made in China. But this one still got me excited and laughed for a while. Weird, huh?
Last one, I promise. I never smiled in photos. (> <) I'm working on this. haha  See the river? Super super super Green! I loved it! Meanwhile, I'm curious about the pollution. Hmm, maybe can't care that much.

Well, that's it. I will try to put up another post summarizing the businesses/entrepreneurs we have visited/talked to. It will be super cool and inspiring, at least I think so. :)
